This is a review about the Ancient Civilization Market, which is a time when a lot of 6th grade students get together in groups to teach the rest of Walter Reed Middle School about what they’ve been learning for the school year! Friday, May 24th was a minimum day, which is another reason to be excited! This event lasts for the whole school day. This market is a big project that sometimes requires dressing up and setting up games so that the audience can be encouraged to learn. People pass out candy and have you play games, since being engaged can help people learn better. This is a fundraiser because a lot of things are sold in this event, and last year the currency was tickets, which costs some money.
This amazing event takes place at Schall Park, and it is a great way to learn about the history of countries like India, Mesopotamia, and Greece. Even parents can come to see how well their sixth grade kids have been faring in history class, and perhaps the adults might come to buy things that are related to the history of the ancient civilizations. This can be a learning experience for students who have passed 6th grade, since the Market might be a time to reminisce about the great times people have had in history class. What an exciting day!
