On September 10, 2019, we had an assembly. Students went with their P.E. class to the auditorium. It talked about what the school rules are and how to follow them. Some 6th graders were there, but it was mostly 7th grade.
I’m sure you guys know the rules. Be responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
Be Responsible: Administrators want us to be responsible for all our things. Cell phones especially. If you lose your phone on campus, that is your fault. Now, getting it stolen is a whole other article. The dean or Principal is not going to stop watching 1,000+ kids just to look for your phone. So, just don’t lose it.
Be Respectful: Being respectful is important. Some ways to be respectful are really easy. Staying on the right in the hallway is being responsible. Mr. Martin talked a bit about locker times in the assembly. He talked about how students ask him all the time to go to their locker 10 minutes after the bell. You can only go to your locker the first five minutes at lunch. If you need to go to the nurse or bathroom, of course they will let you go, but they will not let you go for your locker. Same thing with the library. Go the first five minutes after the bell rings at lunch or nutrition.
Be Safe: This seems pretty obvious, don’t do things you’re not supposed to. For example: don’t hit other students. One way to be safe is to not fight with other students which could result in getting injured. Do not cross the street at drop-off or pick-up without looking! You do not want to get hit by a car. The BEST assembly was an important assembly that introduced students (or refreshed their memory) about the rules.
