If you are a fan of video games, you will know about Minecraft. If you don’t know, Minecraft is a blocky sandbox game where you can build anything you want. Recently, Minecraft has blown up and has gotten more Google and YouTube searches than Fortnite, according to Google Trends. This could be that the game’s 10th anniversary recently passed. Anyway, if you now own a copy of Minecraft, you may not know what to do first. However, I am here to help. So, here are five tips on how to start a new survival world in Minecraft.
FIRST: Smelting. When starting a world you will need to collect resources. These can be used to make other blocks. One thing you will need is food. Later in the game, you will also need to smelt certain ores. In the new version of Minecraft, smokers and blast furnaces were added to the game. The smoker cooks food faster while the blast furnace smelts ores faster. Making a smoker requires oak logs surrounding a furnace in a crafting table and a blast furnace requires a furnace in the center with three smooth stones underneath and iron in the rest of the slots.
SECOND: A decorative tip, not a survival tip. When doing outdoor decoration, use leaves as hedges. To grab the leaves, make sure to use shears. Also, dig a hole under the leaves to put a log so the leaves won’t despawn.
THIRD: Requires some more work. When you go to the Nether, you may see a Nether fortress. The fortresses will usually have blaze spawners which drop blaze rods. Although these can be used to make blaze powder for eyes of ender or brewing, they can also be used as fuel for furnaces and such.
FOURTH: The Wither. If you didn’t know, the Wither is a beast that has many strong attacks. Killing this monster will reward you with a Nether Star. This item can be used to craft a beacon. Although, it gives an amazing reward, it is not given easily. There is, however, an easier way to kill the Wither. Simply mine to the top of the Nether, and you will eventually find a bedrock ceiling. Find a flat 3x3 block area and place the skeleton skulls on the bedrock and then make the soul sand T. This will suffocate the Wither in a few minutes, making it easy to get your beautiful Nether Star.
FIFTH: I have a tip for killing the Ender Dragon. As you might know, you cannot set your spawn in the Nether. When placing a bed and trying to sleep in it, the bed will explode. This can be used to your advantage. When the Ender Dragon attacks, it will try to glide to you and knock you off of the island. When it does this, place a bed and explode it to create a lot of damage.
In conclusion, use these tricks for your advantage. It may help you save time.
