Hunter X Hunter is a manga made by Yoshihiro Togashi and an anime produced by Studio, MADHOUSE, which is about Gon Freecss becoming a Hunter like his father and his quest to find him. A Hunter is like these people who through this rigorous exam to become these elite members of humanity, they can be Adventurers, Protectors, or People who take certain jobs.
HunterXHunter (The X is silent) is a great show/manga with some intriguing moments, heartwarming moments, sad moments, intense moments, funny moments etc., there’s a bit of something for everyone.
The animation of HunterXHunter is very well done where there can be a lot of color and moments where it is satisfying to watch.
The action in this anime may not be as flashy or very fast paced as other anime, but they consist of strategy and can be very hard hitting. Which are some that I’ve come to like, because not everyone will be someone to go head first at time, it sometimes requires thinking and planning.
The soundtrack of the show is amazing, and it really fits the tone of the situation and the place that the characters are in. It can either be the Intro, Departure which hypes you up for the episode, or one of the outro songs like Hunting For Your Dream that hypes you up for the upcoming episode. The loud bongo drums and the developing violin and trumpets, the memorable guitar riffing, that chilling orchestra and the sound effects are all really good to hear as it makes you feel like you can hear the impact of the fight scenes.
One of my favorite things about this show is the Power System which is known as Nen which is very complex. There are six types of Nen Users such as Enhancers, which improves one’s natural abilities either body or object. Emitters, where their aura can be projected or shot out. Transmuters, which change properties of one’s aura like changing it into electricity or making it elastic and sticky. Manipulators, where they are able to control living or non-living things with their aura. Conjurers, where one can make objects out of their aura. Finally we have Specialists with their abilities that depend on their bloodline or where they grew up. The types of Nen-User a character can be depends on their personality or through water divination and there are many ways Nen can be used, and that's why it's one of the things that I love. It can work at moments and it is all about the action and intensity.
This may sound like a great show and all but there is one problem, the manga is on hiatus, the show can’t go without the manga and it’s on Hiatus because of the author’s health issues. Which is a huge bummer and sometimes I doubt that this will be finished. I still have have faith somehow, let us all be patient and hope for the future.
