This year has definitely been like no other. It seems like quarantine will never end, right? You're afraid that you'll never be able to go outside without wearing a mask? You might not want to talk about it, but talking about will make you feel better. Start writing a journal or taking pictures of how life is now, because you might not know it but you are living in history. You are not alone, everyone is feeling exactly what you are feeling right now so don’t be scared, we’re in this together.
We wanted to hear the voices of our own students and see what they have to say about something nearly everyone is talking about these days, quarantine and distance learning! Keep reading to see what they said.
Student Point of View:
Question 1: What is your opinion about distance learning?
Answer: “I wouldn’t have thought we would need to do it if it wasn’t necessary. But in the situation we are in right now I think it is necessary at least until COVID-19 gets a little better.”
Question 2: What is the most difficult part of distance learning?
Answer: “The most difficult part of distance learning is trying to submit everything online because you can’t just go in the middle of class and ask if you turn in something. So, ya the most difficult part of it is knowing when and how to turn in assignments.”
Question 3: What is the most beneficial part of distance learning?
Answer: “I think distance learning has made us all a lot more independent and we don’t rely on our teachers as much as we used to.”
Question 4: When you first started distance learning did you enjoy it, has your mind changed about distance learning now?
Answer: “Yes I did enjoy distance learning at first but after spending quite a lot of time on Zoom I have realized how much more difficult it is to learn in a digital setting.”
Question 5: What are your thoughts about quarantine?
Answer: “Well I think quarantine has been physically and emotionally hard for everyone, especially those who have not been able to see their families.”
Question 6: What do you most despise about quarinite?
Answer: “ So what I hate most about quarantine is not being able to see my family and friends. Also, being nervous of going into normal places because I’m worried I might get sick.”
Question 7: What do you most love about quarantine?
Answer: “ I most love getting to be alone more, focusing more on the things I wish to accomplish (which I've had success in.) I also get to be more creative.”
