SBAC Testing

Did you know that SBAC stands for Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium? That is a lot of big words. SBAC State Testing starts on the week of April 29, exactly 7 days after Spring Break. The state testing challenges students on math and english, and classes last for two hours each. This is known as a blocked schedule. It is very quiet in all the classrooms because everyone already took out their computers. This can make people nervous because they want to get a good score on the tests. Extended elective classes are really fun because you can do all kinds of things to make up for all the hard testing. Most of the time you can loosen up during this part of the day.

Have you checked what your SSID is? SSID stands for Service Set Identifier. You need this 10-digit code in order to log into the SBAC testing system. Most of the time, your teacher will tell you what this code is before you start the test. It is the same as the one you get in elementary school. Sometimes, they are very easy to memorize, and sometimes they are not. I recommend that if your teacher tells you your SSID, you should write it down on a piece of paper just in case… something happens. Good luck!
