November 13th is World Kindness Day! We have so many really nice students at Reed who help people all the time. Perhaps, in honor of this day, every person can do one kind thing. If someone trips, help them up! Everyone has a ton of obstacles in middle school, but you could relieve some of them if you do something nice. World Kindness Day is an international celebration because everyone in the entire world is capable of doing something nice, whether they know it or not.
World Kindness Day has a long history. It has been existent since 1998, due to the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in cool countries like Canada, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.
What can you do for World Kindness Day?
Honda doesn’t have to be the only group of people doing Random Acts of Kindness™! You can give someone a hug if they are sad, or a high-five if you want to share your happiness. You don’t even have to know that person - if they need some kindness, give them kindness!
If someone loses something, leaves something behind, or drops something on the floor unintentionally, you could try picking it up and returning it to its owner. Finding lost things makes people really happy and relieved.
Hold the door open for someone. Sometimes, people are carrying a lot of things, or they’re about to get hit by a swinging door. Whatever is the case, holding the door open for someone to help them get places, especially in middle school, is a nice thing to do.
Volunteering is a very friendly thing to do. One thing you get in return is that you are remembered for doing community service. There are so many volunteering opportunities, every day, all the time. Try lending a helping hand.
Remember, World Kindness Day is for everybody! Doing something kind does great things for the people who need kindness in their lives, and can elicit a smile in you.
