Trick or Treating Safely

Every year, kids coming in crowds to surround doors of the most festively lit houses in the neighborhood, we call it trick or treating. It's fun and exciting and kids get to dress up and let their imagination run free. But sadly in this day and age, there are a lot of people that might do very bad things to harm the kids. Disguising substances as if were candy, which has been in many recent reports.  In this article we will go over some of the dangers of trick or treating, and if you’re older, how to make sure your candy is one hundred percent clean of all dangerous substances and harmful toys.

The first issue is drugs, there are a couple of ways to avoid this and one is to not eat any homemade candies or repackaged treats, no matter how appetizing or appealing they may seem. Carefully check that your candies are completely sealed with no holes or openings. Be cautious of any strange looking tablet “candies” as well.

Another caution is dangerous toys. Some houses, instead of giving candies, give toys, and most of the time they are perfectly fine and fun. Try staying away from sharp, small (ingestible sized), and hard toys. Even the plastic fangs have been known to cause gum bleeding and tooth pain.

One more thing to stay clear of is quiet neighborhoods. Kids walking by themselves in a dark neighborhood on Halloween night could attract predators. Make sure to stay safe on Halloween by being on crowded well lit streets with lots and lots of parents and kids.

In conclusion, on Halloween night make sure to always stay safe and be aware of your surroundings. Have a fun, but safe, trick or treating night out!
