As you all know, Halloween is looming ahead of us! From personal experience, I know that not having any plans for Halloween makes it hard to want to go trick-or-treating, which is sad because there is so much candy you’d miss out on! People even give out actual toys sometimes, and that is really nice of them but they are probably spending too much money on that. If you aren’t one for walking around in the dark on a cold autumn night without a plan, let me give you some suggestions.
Do a ‘drive-around’. This is a nice thing to do before the streets are filled with people and candy wrappers. Why? Because people have such nice decorations! It is hard to find a neighborhood that does not have at least one house with tons of Halloween decorations. Speaking of…
Decorate your own house! You don’t have to purchase sparkling lights, giant spiders (eek), or touch-activated jumpscare products in order to have a nicely decorated house. Perhaps buy some pumpkins and mount your broom outside the door. That would be enough.
Pumpkins! Pumpkins are amazing. Pumpkins are essentially the mascot of Halloween. Empty your pumpkins of seeds, and start carving! You could even make a tiny little pumpkin family. And perhaps you could stick a candle or LED lights in the center of the pumpkin to make it glow.
Watch scary videos. To get into the mood of Halloween, maybe a little digital help is necessary. Scary videos abound when the end of October is nigh, so if you like to be in the comfort of your own couch with potato chips and french fries, watching videos is nice.
Go to a Halloween carnival. If you live close to Knotts’ Berry Farm, try convincing your family to take you there. Or if a local school is inviting everyone for a fundraiser, you check that out too!
Eat a lot of food. Food is good. Maybe combine that with one of the other four? Or you could just eat food. That’s fine, too.
Have fun this Halloween!
